Gather your documents
Your Stripe account ID, EIN or IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter, and tax-exempt documentation.
Contact Stripe support
Request the nonprofit rate and confirm that at least 80% of your payment volume comes from tax-deductible donations.
Process donations at the reduced rate
Stripe applies the discount to your account. It covers donations only: membership fees, tuition, tickets, registrations, and auction payments stay at standard rates.
The discount starts at approval, so apply before your fundraising season. American Express transactions are not discounted.
